Astros Drop Brewers, 5-4, with Late Score
|
Houston beat Milwaukee at Miller Park, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman John Lindsey. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. Houston reliever Lee Rodney got the win, raising his record to 2-5. Glen Perkins was tagged with the loss. Raul Cazal earned the save for Houston, his 41st.
Houston used the clutch hitting of Juan A. Ciriaco to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Astros the lead, 5-4. For the game, Ciriaco had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Houston manager Mike L. "It's usually not just one thing."
Houston is now 70-55, Milwaukee 52-74.
