Brantley Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Diamondbacks Win, 11-5
|
Diamondbacks right fielder Michael Brantley left his mark on his team's 11-5 win over the Houston Astros. Brantley, who is tied for 9th in the NL in runs scored with 84, was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for Arizona in the contest. Mike Golden, 2-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Arizona is now 72-52, Houston 69-55.
Arizona relied on the hitting of Jake Duncan to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 7-5. For the game, Duncan had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We hit the ball hard," said Arizona manager Max Gruber. "Line drive after line drive."
