A 4-RBI performance from the 27-year old catcher Tony Paredes helped the Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 8-5. Robert Manuel was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 8 save opportunities. The Rangers now own a record of 71-52.

With Texas leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Paredes hit a slider from Mark Prior for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 5-1.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Paredes said in postgame remarks.
