Edwin Romero, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a 8.0 K/9 rate, never let the Giants get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Astros to a win, 5-1. Raul Cazal earned the save, his 39th in 41 tries. The setback makes San Francisco 63-57.
The Astros got an important contribution from shortstop Jose Reyes, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a slider to left for a run-scoring double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Astros ahead, 3-1.
"Feels good to get the job done," Reyes said after the game.
