Blue Jays Tack 9-2 Loss on Detroit
|
The Toronto Blue Jays licked the Detroit Tigers, 9-2. Brandon Inge deserved a big chunk of the credit. The third baseman was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Blue Jays. Mike McNutt got the win, improving to 4-5. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Blue Jays win now puts them at 62-60.
With Toronto leading 4-2 in the top of the seventh, Inge hit a 2-run single off Detroit hurler Maximo Reyes. It was the 118th hit of the season for Inge and put his team ahead, 6-2.
"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Inge after the game.
