Blue Jays Take 10-2 Pounding
|
The Detroit Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 10-2. Detroit second baseman Edgar Renteria deserved the lion's share of the credit. Renteria was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Tigers. Detroit is now 55-64.
Detroit got a big at-bat from Koblenz, Germany native Odell Young, who in the bottom of the eighth hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 29th double of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 10-2.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Young.
