Ford, Astros March to 3-2 Victory
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Houston Astros eventually prevailed.
The Houston Astros beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2, at Great American Ball Park. Houston left fielder Will Ford had an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Hirose Matsuda wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Houston grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Ford hit a 2-run home run off Tomohiro Adachi. His 2nd home run of the season put the Astros out in front, 3-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Ford told the Houston Times.
The win brings the Astros to 3-8, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
