Mariners Earn 7-4 Home Win
|
Seattle designated hitter Steve Pearce was a significant contributor in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Los Angeles Angels. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Mariners. Michael Dennison got the save, his 10th in 13 chances. With the win, Seattle raised its record to 64-43.
Pearce had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-0 cutter from Len Hart, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Mariners a 7-4 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Pearce.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Pearce, "and then get after it again."
