Boston starter Steve Karsay pitched well against the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 9-8, in 13 innings. The loss drops Los Angeles to 4-8.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Boston. That's when Joe Randa hit a 2-run double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Fernando Hernandez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Steve was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Boston manager Dave Hammertime.
