Red Sox Deal Devil Rays 7-5 Loss
|
Boston registered a win at Fenway Park by beating the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 7-5. Pitcher Dan Serafini was one reason why the Red Sox triumphed. The winner was Luiz Gilliard in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Huston Street took the loss. The Red Sox, now 10-1, have stormed out of the gates.
Boston got a knockout punch from Andruw Jones. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Said Jones: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
