New York Defeated By Orioles, 8-6
|
Though he had a stellar game, Robinson Cano could not prevent his team, the New York Yankees, from losing, 8-6, to the Baltimore Orioles. Cano was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. Picking up the save was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Lionel Rogers. New York falls to 5-6.
Baltimore used a clutch at-bat from Jacoby Ellsbury to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Orioles ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said New York manager Andrew K.
