Phillies Down Astros, 3-2
|
The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Houston Astros, 3-2, in part because of left fielder Ryo Kaneshiro. He was 2-2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up his 21st save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jonathan Papelbon. The Phillies now own a record of 35-62.
Quilvio Veras contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. His at-bat helped Philadelphia get the win.
"We've got some diehard fans," said Veras. "It's great to have their support."
