Red-Hot Brantley Scorches Nationals
|
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Arizona's 15-6 win over Washington, right fielder Michael Brantley was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at RFK Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Brantley said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Michael Brantley singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This season in 88 games, Brantley has hit at a .320 clip with 113 hits, 6 home runs, 47 RBIs and 63 runs scored.
