Red Sox Win, Move to Within 1 Game of World Series
|
Despite a great performance by Anaheim starter Sam Helms, the Boston Red Sox defeated the Angels by the score of 5-4 at Angels Stadium of Anaheim. Helms threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball, but he couldn't prevent the Red Sox from moving one game closer to the World Series. Boston now leads the League Championship Series 3-0.
Boston used a timely hit from John Roskos to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We're happy," Roskos told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Angels Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim.
