Royals Hammered by Ethier, Drop Game 3 to Rangers
|
The Texas Rangers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Kansas City Royals, winning, 4-2, at Ameriquest Field in Arlington. Rangers right fielder Andre Ethier was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rangers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Guo-quiang Ting contributed to the Texas win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
Ting called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
