Diamondbacks Rally to Win, 5-4
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Andres Lopez, but found a way to pull out the victory at Citizens Bank Park by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Lopez went 7.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. Scott Albin earned the save for Arizona. The loss drops the Philadelphia record to a disappointing 3-7.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Danny Enriquez came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Kevin Cameron, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Arizona on top, 5-4.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Diamondbacks manager Rock B.
