The New York Mets wasted no time taking the lead in the Division Series, beating the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park by the score of 7-1. The win gives New York a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Mets right-hander Todd Redmond threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball.

Houston had little success against Redmond and his fastball. Redmond tossed 100 pitches over 7.1 innings for the Mets.

"I got in a good groove," said Redmond. "I was getting some swings and misses."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
