The Tampa Bay Devil Rays powered past the hometown Texas Rangers, 8-4, in the opener of the Wildcard at Ameriquest Field in Arlington. Tampa Bay right fielder Trot Nixon was 3-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 3 times, to lead the charge. The Devil Rays now lead the series 1-0.
