Angels Hammered by Quintero, Drop Game 1 to Rangers
|
The Texas Rangers started the Division Series in style, winning on the road against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim by a score of 4-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Rangers shortstop Dave Quintero excelled. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
There was more than one reason the Rangers beat the Angels, but Quintero's big at-bat in the top of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Texas manager Jeff A.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Los Angeles.
