Braves Win Round 1
|
The Richmond Braves have advanced to the Round 2, thanks in large part to the pitching performance of right-hander J.D. Martin.
Martin led the way during the Round 1, as his club eliminated the Ottawa Lynx 4-2.
The final game came tonight at Lynx Stadium with a 1-0 victory for Richmond.
"I don't think I did anything special or better than any of my teammates that helped us get here," Martin said. "It takes everyone to win a series."
En route to the MVP award, he registered a 0.00 ERA over 9 innings pitched, with 9 strikeouts.
The Richmond Braves will play against the Indianapolis Indians in the next round. Indianapolis won their series against the Toledo Mud Hens 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
