Braves Rack Up 10-7 Win Versus Milwaukee
|
The Milwaukee Brewers could not turn a fine performance from designated hitter Takeshi Horii into a win. Instead, the Atlanta Braves prevailed, 10-7. Horii was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Atlanta reliever Ivan Naranjo picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. Ryan Basner absorbed the loss. Atlanta is now 50-39.
Atlanta went up, 9-5, on Chipper Jones's 17th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Jones hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Milwaukee pitcher Ryan Basner feeling deflated.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Jones, "one at-bat at a time."
