Miller Shines, But Phillies Fall Short
|
The Atlanta Braves besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Philadelphia first baseman Pete Miller by beating the Phillies, 8-4, at Citizens Bank Park. Miller went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The last-place Braves bumped their record to 18-31.
In the top of the seventh, Berto Flores put Atlanta in front with a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single, making the score 5-4, Braves.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Flores.
