Twins Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Starting pitcher Phil Hughes gave the Minnesota Twins a rock-solid effort. The Mission Viejo, California native helped his team defeat the Chicago White Sox, 3-2, at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. With the win, Minnesota has a record of 78-84. Chicago falls to 91-71.
Adam LaRoche was the walk-off hero for Minnesota. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
LaRoche said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
