Ricky Sosa Reaches 200 Wins
|
Ricky Sosa of the Toronto Blue Jays will go down as one of the league's legendary pitchers after his 4-1 win today against the New York Yankees.
"It felt like it was a postseason game, one out at a time," said his manager. "It was something special to see."
The 37-year-old Sosa picked up his 200th career victory at Yankee Stadium. He hurled 8 innings, gave up 6 hits and registered 8 strikeouts along with no walks.
"I've worked a long time for this," Sosa said. "I can't believe it's really here. It feels great!"
So far in his career, Sosa has collected 200 wins and 155 losses and has recorded an ERA of 3.90 and struck out 2768 batters while pitching 3220 innings.
