Ruiz Tosses No-Hitter Against Cubs
It was a fantastic day for AZL Giants starter Vicente Ruiz and a lousy day for the AZL Cubs.

The AZL hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Cubs, as the Giants cruised to a 2-0 win. When it was all over, Ruiz was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.

"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Ruiz said later.

He rang up 7 strikeouts and allowed 3 walks while shutting AZL down at Scottsdale Stadium.

This year, Ruiz has compiled a 1-1 mark with a 0.43 ERA in 5 starts.
