Blue Jays Win at Home, 8-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays get after it.
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at SkyDome, topping the Baltimore Orioles, 8-3. On the mound for Toronto was right-hander Dan Haren. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Haren, now 5-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6.
In the bottom of the fourth, Yadier Molina delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Toronto catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Blue Jays in front, 8-3.
"Dan pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Toronto manager Matt S.
The win for the Blue Jays lifted their record to 38-32.
