Reyes Excels in 12-5 Boston Win
|
The Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox left the fans buzzing.
The Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins, 12-5, at Fenway Park. The win was due in part to shortstop Jose Reyes, who went 4-4 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. The save went to Shane Waroff, number 2 for him.
Danny Diaz, who led the AL in RBI with 149 in 2003, aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Reyes.
Boston now has a record of 87-74 with the win.
