Mets Top Marlins, 2-1, Behind Knoll
|
New York pitcher Randy Knoll had a large part in his team beating the Florida Marlins, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. New York has run its win streak to 8 straight.
Knoll was effective for New York, seldom allowing the Marlins to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 87 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Florida to just 1 run on 3 hits.
"We were in it," said Florida manager Craig Harris. "We just didn't score enough runs."
