News Goes From Bad to Worse for Moses
Monday, April 23rd , 1917
The prognosis was not good. Medical tests were performed. And now, as a result of a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament, Ulysses Moses has made up his mind to retire from baseball. The El Paso HS starting pitcher said he struggled with the decision. Ultimately, he said, "I had to do what's best for me and my family." A team spokesperson said that a formal announcement would be issued later today.

This season, Moses has compiled a 7-4 record with a 1.68 ERA.
