Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Blair
Sunday, June 11th , 1916
Mike Blair said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 16 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Phoenix HS Patriots rising star has won the Conference 1 Reliever of the Year Award for 1916.

He captured the award on the strength of his 0.82 ERA over 55 innings. He also had 8 saves in 31 relief appearances, 29 strikeouts and only 18 walks.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Tom Irvin of the Columbus HS Alligators finished second in voting, while Jack Anderson of the Charlotte HS Angels finished third.

Player - Team - First Place - Total Points
Mike Blair - Phoenix HS Patriots - 16 - 80
Tom Irvin - Columbus HS Alligators - 0 - 34
Jack Anderson - Charlotte HS Angels - 0 - 30
