Wild Card Clinched by Phoenix HS Sunday, May 7th , 1916 The Phoenix HS Patriots are celebrating a trip to the postseason and say they plan to make the most of the opportunity. The team officially clinched a wild card berth today and closer Mike Blair said they are "looking forward to making some noise" in the playoffs. "There's nothing better than postseason baseball," he said. "We hope to go on a deep run and give our fans in Phoenix HS something to be excited about." For now, excitement is running high as the team's 31-30 record has clinched the playoff position and the team has a chance to win its 1st Negro Secondary School Baseball Association championship. |
