El Paso HS Stymied by Glass Monday, April 24th , 1916 In an outstanding mound performance, Milwaukee HS Bucs starter William Glass fired a complete-game shutout against the El Paso HS Texans at Texans Park. Glass was the key to the 7-0 Milwaukee HS win. The 17-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 7 hits and 1 walk he allowed. "7 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout." Checking out his stats for the season, Glass has registered 9 wins and 5 losses in 16 starts, posted a 0.92 ERA, and struck out 81 batters in 137.2 innings. View Game Log |
