Foote Shackles Columbus HS
Tuesday, April 18th , 1916
Henry Foote of the Brooklyn HS River Rats was masterful, pitching a 5-hit shutout, 3-0, against the Columbus HS Alligators.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Brooklyn HS manager Robert Cook.
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
Foote had 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing.
This season to date, Foote has a record of 5 wins and 7 losses with a 2.07 ERA, has appeared in 13 games and struck out 43 in 100 innings.
