Phoenix HS Blanked by Johnson, 1-0 Wednesday, April 28th , 1915 Charlotte HS pitcher Johnny Johnson put on a show and walked away with a shutout victory, 1-0, over the Phoenix HS Patriots, throttling them on 4 hits. He cruised through the Patriots lineup, fanning 4 and walking 1 in a strong outing. "He was very efficient and he hit his spots," Angels manager Carl Hardcastle said after the game. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate." Johnson has gone 3-1 this season with an ERA of 1.59 and 32 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched.
