Harris Shines in 8-0 Gem Friday, April 23rd , 1915 The El Paso HS Texans were almost helpless in their 8-0 loss to the Milwaukee HS Bucs and hurler Joe Harris. Harris kept the Texans confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Harris," El Paso HS manager Irvine Maynard said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 18-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Harris said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." To date this year, Harris shows a 7-0 record, 13 starts, 85 innings, 40 strikeouts and a 2.22 ERA. View Game Log |
