Tate Fires 1-0 Shutout in Predators Win
Wednesday, April 19th , 1916
Philadelphia College Predators pitcher Robert Tate blanked the Los Angeles College Green Jackets, 1-0, at Los Angeles College Grounds, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 2 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Tate said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
To date this year, Tate has compiled a 4-4 mark with a 2.80 ERA in 15 starts.
