Schmidt Spins 7-0 Shutout Sunday, April 11th , 1915 Tom Schmidt of the Austin College Rangers was cool and collected on the mound, leading his club to a shutout victory over the Des Moines College Arsenal, 7-0. "He was mixing his pitches real well and keeping his composure on the mound," Austin College manager Curt Evans said later. "When Tom does that, good things happen."
