Coakley Stops Allentown

Wendell Coakley of the Eau Claire Oysters shut out the Allentown Outlaws, 2-0, at Aquia Harbour Grounds, holding them to 5 hits with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Allentown skipper Eino Barff called the outing from Coakley "a jewel."
"The way Coakley was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
This year, Coakley has worked 183.2 innings with 97 strikeouts en route to a 8-13 record and a 2.70 ERA.
