Mervyn Holds Outlaws Scoreless Friday, July 6th , 1917 It wasn't easy but Mason Mervyn made it look that way. Mervyn silenced the Allentown Outlaws, 4-0, in a Jonesboro Engines triumph at Tarpons Stadium. Despite the appearance of dominance, Mervyn said that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 2 walks and 3 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." This season, Mervyn has registered 11 wins and 13 losses in 31 starts with a 3.61 ERA. View Game Log |
