Brittain Baffles Gettysburg Batters

In a remarkable performance, Plymouth Pioneers starter Norval Brittain beat the Gettysburg Patriots, 3-0, in an impressive 1-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Pioneers hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Gettysburg manager Wilhelm Crofts said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
In 32 starts this season, Brittain has compiled a 8-13 record and a 2.46 ERA.
