Barrage of Hits Gets Cox EL Award Monday, June 17th , 1912 It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Hipolito Cox, the Boston Banshees 22-year-old third baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Eastern League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 13 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .542 average with no home runs and 3 RBIs. For the season Cox has hit .323 with 1 home run and 29 RBIs. He has played in 63 games and scored 29 times. |
