Eastern League Picks Top Player Monday, June 10th , 1912 22-year-old Santos Banwell sent shock waves through Legacy Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Eastern League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Banwell made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .429 average, 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 1 home run and 10 RBI. Where the Brooklyn Whales center fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Banwell certainly made his mark last week. So far this season Banwell is hitting .429 with 1 home run. |
