Brunt Awarded August's WL Top Bat Prize Friday, September 1st , 1916 Norman Brunt of the Detroit Giants recorded a .348 batting average in August. His hitting spree racked up the Western League Batter of the Month award for his trophy case. The Detroit left fielder battered opposing pitchers all month, accumulating no home runs, 10 RBIs and scoring 11 runs. To date, Brunt has collected 91 hits for a .294 average. He has posted 4 home runs, scored 38 runs and driven in 36 runs. |
