Redgate Snags Rookie of Month Trophy Monday, September 1st , 1919 Claudie Redgate certainly made a name for himself with a standout August. Voters were impressed enough to name him the Eastern League's Rookie of the Month. The 23-year-old New York hurler racked up 4 wins and 1 loss and posted an ERA of 1.84 in 44 innings of work. He restricted other teams to a .161 batting average, notched 20 strikeouts and walked 11. In 15 starts this season, Redgate has registered a 10-4 record and a 3.17 ERA. |
