Averill Tosses 1-0 Shutout Saturday, June 26th , 1915 Harley Averill of the Philadelphia Brewers was lights-out while 6-hitting the Richmond Rifles. "I had my good stuff and it went where I wanted it to go," he told BNN reporters after the contest. Averill registered 5 strikeouts and no walks in shutting out Richmond, 1-0. To date this season, Averill sports a 9-9 mark with a 2.85 ERA in 19 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .260 batting average and has 86 strikeouts in 157.2 innings.
