Kings Bridle Bakers, 2-1
The New York Kings eked out a 2-1 win versus the New York Bakers at Kings Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Joseph Ablewhite. He was terrific. New York has now won 3 in a row.

Frank Ball had a big run-scoring double for the Kings in the bottom of the second inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Robert Batkin, who is a nine-time Pitcher of the Year Award winner, and swatted a double to center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kings ahead, 2-0.

"Some games build character," said New York manager Thomas Dickey. "Like this one."
