Bakers Score Late to Beat Banshees, 4-3
|
The New York Bakers and Boston Banshees rewarded fans hoping for a nail-biter.
The New York Bakers picked up a win at Bakers Field, downing the Boston Banshees, 4-3, in 12 innings. On the mound for New York was right-hander Harry Savory, who played a pivotal role in the win. New York is now 15-20, while Boston is 14-22.
The Bakers got a clutch hit from right fielder Nicholas Martin. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bakers.
"This wasn't a good win," said Martin. "It was a great win."
