Rogers Sends Baltimore Bats to Deep Freeze
Reinhold Rogers of the Philadelphia Brewers was on top of his game.

The 35-year-old tantalized the Baltimore Clippers with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 6-0.

"He had the changeup working," Baltimore manager John Allen said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Philadelphia hurler had 6 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 6 hits in his complete-game effort.

Rogers told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

This year, Rogers has compiled a 4-4 record with a 3.72 ERA in 9 starts.
