The Philadelphia Brewers used a great performance from Troy Duerden, who is tied for 9th in the EL in quality starts with 7, to beat the Brooklyn Whales, 3-1, at Field of the Whales. Philadelphia, now 14-19, holds down 5th place in the Eastern Division.
Duerden gave Philadelphia an exquisite performance. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 9 innings.
