Brooklyn Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Everette Lee, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in innings pitched with 95.1, was terrific for the Brooklyn Whales in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Brewers. His performance earned Lee rave reviews. Lee, the winner, moves to 8-3. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. The Brooklyn win streak is now 3 games.
Lewis Tipton was the walk-off hero for Brooklyn. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Whales pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game was intense," Lee said, postgame.
