New York Comes up Empty Against Fain
|
Brooklyn Whales pitcher Walter Fain blanked the New York Bakers, 1-0, at Bakers Field, tossing a 3-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 5 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Fain said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
To date this season, Fain is 6-4 with 10 starts and an ERA of 1.86 with 26 strikeouts in 87 innings.
